Box Elder Behavioral Health provides comprehensive psychosexual evaluations and specialized treatment services for children, adolescents, and adults in Virginia, North Carolina, and New Mexico. Services are provided through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth.

Psychosexual evaluations may be appropriate when there are concerns involving sexual behavior, alleged or known sexual offenses, problematic sexual behaviors, risk, treatment needs, or court and child welfare involvement. Most referrals come from professionals involved in an individual’s case, including defense attorneys, probation and parole officers, DSS and child welfare professionals, courts, and behavioral health providers.

Comprehensive Psychosexual Evaluations

Evaluations are tailored to the individual’s age, history, circumstances, and reason for referral. Depending on the referral question, evaluations may examine:

• Sexual and behavioral history

• Relevant risk and protective factors

• Mental health and psychosocial functioning

• Accountability, insight, and decision-making

• Treatment needs and responsiveness to intervention

• Recommendations for treatment, supervision, or additional services

When appropriate, BEBH provides clear written reports and clinically informed recommendations to help authorized referral sources better understand the individual’s needs and determine appropriate next steps.

BEBH works with defense attorneys representing clients with sexual behavior concerns, allegations, or sexual offense charges. Our evaluations provide clinical information that can help attorneys better understand their client’s risk factors, treatment needs, level of insight, and recommended next steps.
